I had been hired twice in Malaysia ( first through an agency, second then as Direct Hired). Admittedly processing an employment with the help of agency is easy peasy. You don't have anything to do but wait, attend PDOS then off to go for deployment. But processing as Direct Hire can also be easy if you follow these steps and had the documents ready prior to your appointment in POEA.
( This post is intended for High Skilled and Professional Workers)
Gather all these documents first before heading to POEA Main Office (Ortigas, Mandaluyong)
- Contract from your employer ( Original with company stamp)
Note: Standard contracts in Malaysia, doesn't include Repatriation Clause. If you don't have one, get a Repatriation insurance from Cocolife or any Insurance company, offering such
- Money for Processing (POEA processing fee 100USD, OWWA Membership fee 25USD + Phil health + Pag-Ibig) - bring at least 10K pesos
- Pre departure and Orientation Seminar Certificate - Only obtain once done on Step 1 and been scheduled.
- 2x2 ID Picture ( White background)
Have all the documents Photocopied. Arrange the original and duplicate copies separately.
Direct Hire - Name hire steps
1. Go to 2nd Floor and register to Window 6 Name hire section ( Skilled and Professional Workers)
2. When Called proceed to the counter (6,7,8 for Skilled/ Professional Workers)
3. Submit your complete sets of documents (Original and Photocopied)
4. Your documents will be verified and evaluated and will be return to you. The POEA staff will advise you on PDOS and medical ( can skip this once done)
5. Proceed to OWWA for PDOS schedule ( Bound to Malaysia is schedule at 1PM from Monday - Thursday only)
6. Once done with PDOS, get your certificate then proceed to Window 9, submit the PDOS certiicate.
7. Go to Window 8 for releasing of your original documents with RFP number
8. Then proceed to Window I at ground floor for assessment of payment then go to window J for payment. You'll get an E-receipt (like the photo below)

- Free Airport Terminal Fee
- Reduced Travel Tax for Dependents
Tips- Please come to POEA office early l to secure a queue at name hire section. This process can all be done 1 day assuming you all have documents ready.
