How to Apply Dependent Visa in Malaysia

One of the common questions I encountered when newly OFW came in Malaysia for work is how to bring their wife/husband or kids here in Malaysia for good. Well it's not something new as most of the married OFW usually intend to bring with their families here. The process is pretty much the same in applying Working Visa.

Assume the sponsor or primary DP 10 holder had been approved.

Gather all the Documents required below.

1.  Cover letter and Letter of Authority from the company.
2.  DP11A Form with recent passport size photograph. ( Dark Blue background)
3.  Proof of relationship ( birth certificate, marriage certificate) The copies must be attested by the Philippine embassy.  Fee of RM 96.25 per document
4.  A photocopy of the complete Dependant's Passport
5.  A photocopy of the complete  sponsor or primary DP10 holder Passport.

Fees Charged

- Pass - RM90.00 per year or part thereof.
- Processing fee - RM50.00.

- Journey Performed Visa Fee - RM500.00 (if relevant)

Steps

1. Once all the documents (above) are endorsed for Stage 1, Putrajaya immigration/ or MDEC any of which is applicable. This will take 1-2 weeks for approval.

2. If the dependent is still in the Philippines. Reference Visa to be collected either in Malaysian embassy in Makati or Malaysian consulate in Davao. Skip this process if you bring along your dependent and will do Journey performed.

3. Get Single Entry visa stamp in Philippines. ( Follow the guide here) Takes 3 days.

4. Upon arrival in Malaysia, endorse passport for Stage 2 to Putrajaya immigration/ or MDEC any of which is applicable. This will take 1-2 weeks time.

5.You'll get multiple entry visa and had same expiration of the sponsor.

Normally, the company will sponsored your dependent visa cost and will help to assist the process. If not, you have to apply it yourself in Immigration Office in Putrajaya.
