How to register Tax Number in Malaysia

Usually the employers are responsible for registering tax of it's new employee. However there some companies who doesn't have a dedicated HR which means an individual must apply by himself. Please see the guide below on how to register Tax Number/ ID in Malaysia.


There are two ways to register Tax Number by yourself.

1. Visiting the nearest Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) Office

2. Registering Online via e-Daftar site.


Make sure to obtain these documents prior to registration.

1. Latest Payslips
2. Copy of Identification Card or Passport
3. Copy of Marriage Certificate ( If Applicable).
